Southeast Asian organisation FIGHT Esports, short for Forest Interactive Gaming Habitat Team, has announced a partnership with TikTok Southeast Asia to launch the TikTok Gaming Ground PH.
The year-long partnership will also see the creation of the #TikTokGGPH Creator Cup, a VALORANT competition set to take place on February 27th-28th.
According to the release, TikTok’s community of gamers are expected to see live esports events and tournaments hosted on TikTok GGPH’s official account, alongside gaming content shared and compiled by users.
The #TikTokGGPH Creator Cup, which is hosted by TikTok Philippines and FIGHT Esports, is expected to also be live-streamed on its official account.
John Castro, TikTok’s Gaming Operations Manager for the Philippines commented: “TikTok continues to pursue opportunities to inspire creativity and bring joy to all Filipinos.
“With gaming actively becoming a positive source for community building and enjoyment, we are happy to be doing our part in providing the growing gaming community with a platform for education, positive connections and interaction.”
A video campaign will be held within the TikTok app, to celebrate the partnership. Creators on the platform will be able to upload videos that perfectly captures ‘their gaming style’. At the end of the campaign, 20 creators will be selected to become part of TikTok’s community of gamers.
Chantal-Denise Ortega, FIGHT Esports Project Manager added: “TikTok is fast becoming a place where people create, share, and enjoy a new type of experience.
“This will create a unique and innovative esports experience where they can follow and engage with their favourite gaming content creators, tune in to esports tournament livestreams, as well as celebrate esports in ways that have never been done before.”
